So, I just got in touch with ole buddy husband and wife team: Bunny and Jackolope from WPPC.
They are still playing vengeance on wednesdays and sundays.
The server is up tho 27/7

wppc.servegame.org is the server IP.

Check it out, if you feel like playing Veng.

So, is anyone actually playing veng? Anyone interested in say...
a High Def patch for Vengeance?

I would love to see a High Def Patch for Veng!

I have been playing for a long time and this would really be a great thing to freshen things up!

Jack, Buns, and SoE Frost are keeping the game alive...and very active, this might go a ways to attracting more interest.

We have seen a resurgence of old players returning from Mercs to Veng.


What can we do to help make this happen?

If anyone would like to check Veng out....don't be a stranger! WPPC server is open 24/7 however you will find it packed on Wednesday and Sunday nights starting around 9 EST and SoE server on Fridays and Sundays starting around 2 pm EST (Euro server out of Germany)

of course without the MS Zone you must connect via direct IP..so here they are:

Yes, It is very nice of you all to be considering this for sure~! Hello Everyone, I am Bun Li of WPPC. MechWarrior Vengeance is a way of life for us and all our friends! Like our great friend Yardbird said, there are a lot of players that had left Veng. and has since came back for old school brawlin'!

The Community of MechWarrior Vengeance is truly irreplaceable. The people that keep it alive are the ones who show up on Wednesday and Sunday night "Venge Nights". There is a community of true blue old school MechWarriors that would just love a High-Def Patch to enhance there game play!

Yes, on Friday and Sunday evenings CET (European time zone around 9pm) on our 24/7 SoE Veng Server:
ShadowsOfEmpirionHLA (TA, ATT and DBALL): IP is dc7jzb.dyndns.org

SoE Veng server is open 24/7. Especially on Fridays we usually have a full server! Veng is still my favorite MW4 version and I'm not alone in this opinion... :grin:

Btw, a German version of the HDP would be needed too, as most of us have the German game version. That's why I never could get the HDP for Mercs MP3.

Yardbird... can you do mech modeling, sound effects, artwork / texturing?

If you answered YES, to above... please post with some screenshots as attachments (simply upload whatever it is... ) then if its a Jpeg... once its uploaded press add inline...

I contemplated a HDP for Vengeance. Problem is, to make it happen I would have to rename several thousand files manually. I don't have the time or interest in doing so.

As for the German HDP, I had a problem with the tool I was using: it would not let me append the new files to the .mw4 files. I've also since lost my copy of German Mercs. So unless someone can donate a German copy to me somehow, I can't even attempt to solve the append problems.

I think this is where I could help.....I would gladly donate my time to this project....even the mundane tasks. I am a process control programmer by trade, so I know my way around the ol PC pretty good. Delegate those tasks to me!

Is it possible for our German users to use English Versions? or not really?
I am just trying to minimize duplicate work as much as possible, as the Veng user base is very small.
If not, I guess, I would need access to that German Version as well.

Nearly 10 years later and Venge still rawks! ImageHowever a face lift might be in order. Eheh, Hello all! Thanks for the interest in a high def patch for venge! (and heck yea folks still play venge! RAR!) I think it would be fantastic and I will help in any way I can with this patch. I would like to offer my help of the renaming of any file, several thousand times over, if it would help my buddies out and spark more interest in the game! I have some experience in some basic coding and I'm sure if I was told what to do, I could help with renaming files or anything else. About the German version of the patch... hmmm.. if enough folks help like this, it should speed up the process. I'm sure Yard and I are not alone in their want to help the community of vengeance!


Sounds great! and BTW if anyone out there is interested.. you all are more than welcome to come to venge and hang out with us! Check around on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays! You should find plenty of us still hamming it up in old school venge land.
