Contest: Create Clan Logo(s)

The Contest is to make any single Logo for any of these groups and have it be the best logo for that group.

So, if you make the best Liao... then you win the Liao Logo challenge.

If you win, then we will use your logo in the movie at various locations thru-out the movie.

The contest starts now, and ends the last day in April 2010.
Ripper and I will be the final judge(s) in the contest, but we will listen to any opinions you guys post.

(All winners must sign a contract with Macktek, LLC granting certain rights to Macktek, LLC and Mechstorm to use their logos, or another contestant's Logo will be chosen)

Please note that the example logo for Craven's Killers is just a random example, you have a wide latitude here, and it can be anything.

I am not very familiar with the houses of MW and what their logos look like. :obscene-smokingred:

The Merc logo(s) have not been decided on just yet... I am waiting on Ripper for the final info.

Are these logos to be the same as the originals or just a new and improved version of the old? That would result in the logo's not being an original work but a re-creation of an old logo. To me , I can remake them but it would not be an original piece of artwork.

You can retain elements of the original work, but we want an improved look, and at least a little different.
The movie is a fan based movie... but we are looking for your own work.
We realize because you are basing it off the original it won't be completely different.
And of course, we want the essence of the "House" to be in the Logo.

Just another thought...
Because we are going for "realism" in the movie... I would say make the logos less cartoonish.
The Marik logo especially needs help in that area.

Anyhow i guess the most important thing to me is that while we are asking artists to create a next generation logo or emblem for the film i want them to be recognizable. obviously there is alot of room for improvement to the originals and this wont be the first time people have revamped them. however that leaves alot of wiggle room. they don't have to be modeled, what they need to be however is a fresh new look at icons created over 2 decades ago.
as for the the generals merc unit i am leaning towards "Cravens Killers" for the name of generals elite unit. i would be open to another name if someone wants give them a good name worthy of our production.
the clan unit in the film is not a familiar clan and is based on a unknown clan of BT history. the clan unit is Clan Crimson Scorpion. because they were an unknown clan and merc units we have the artistic laterability to create pretty much anything. originally the CCS unit had used the command and conquered emblem for canes faction. it later progressed to a different look altogether. here are the known versions of CCS symbols as well as the type of scorpion i feel best represents the look im after.
